As we approach mid-December, we are less than 90 days away from marathon Sunday, February 21, 2010. Once again, I hope we can "recruit" a large number of runners from Orlando to be there. I'm registered and have my hotel room reserved!
Please make every effort to join us for the "26.2 with Donna - The National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer".
The photo is from 2009 after the award ceremony.

I WILL be there. For a short while, I thought maybe not...not this year. But, things happen. A young woman who graduated with my son from Utica College is losing her battle to this ugly demon, She has 2 little boys...I believe 6 & 9. She is hoping to make it through Christmas and I pray that she does. I know of her battle only because my son called me one day...in tears. He needed to share with someone..besides his wife. This strong young woman has only told 3 of her classmates...my son being one of them.. and wishes to keep it that way. I was wondering why he had made such a generous donation when I ran the Komen Race for the Cure...now I know.I told him that I would run the 1/2 in Jacksonville in her honor.I am writing this through streaming tears. I wish that there was something more that I could do.I pray every day "please God...give Kim one more month." and I am asking for others to pray for her.
My BFF and I are heading down to sunny Florida (hopefully sunny) from Mass. to celebrate my 40th birthday in honor of my aunt (survivor) and another friend up here in a current battle with it now. She has 5 children, 4 of them girls. What a great way to give back and start a new chapter in my life.
Daria... I will keep Kim in my thoughts and prayers. We can both run for her in February. May God bless her.
